Hiking

The national park has an extensive network of hiking trails that are mainly easy, but also include some more challenging trails for both short and longer day trips. A 30–45 km hiking trail also leads through the park. It can be travelled in summer and autumn, and it is also suitable for beginner hikers.

  • Most of the trails are gravelled for easy hiking.
  • You can cross mire areas on duckboards.
  • Day routes are mainly circle trails. The 30–45 km hiking trail is not a circle trail.
  • Rest spots are close to one other: there are lean-to shelters, campfire huts, cooking shelters, day-use huts, open wilderness huts and rental huts.
  • There is no winter maintenance on the hiking trails.
  • There are snowshoeing trails marked in winter as well as maintained winter biking trails. The popular routes near the resort centres are often walkable in winter shoes during the high season due to heavy use.
