Remember to observe the outdoor etiquette
1. Respect nature – leave no trace in it
Keep pets on a leash. Observe animals and their young from a sufficient distance. Do not damage plants.
2. Mainly use marked trails
Nature in protected areas experiences less strain when hikers stay on marked trails.
3. Only pitch your tent on sites where camping is allowed
Do not wash dishes or yourself in natural waters or on well covers. Follow the rules of open wilderness huts. Be considerate towards other hikers and those staying in the hut overnight. They may be tired after their day’s hike and wish to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.
4. Only make fires where it is permitted
Use only marked and maintained campfire sites, opt for a camping stove. Do not light a fire during a wildfire warning.
5. Do not litter
Remember to bring a rubbish bag with you. Compost correctly. Do not burn your litter.

How well do you know everyman’s rights?
For example, you may walk and stay the night in nature, pick berries and mushrooms, swim and go boating.
Making fire in the terrain and collecting firewood is not an everyman’s right. They are only permitted with the landowner’s permission.
Everyman’s rights are not valid as such in nature reserves and all national parks. Always check any restrictions applicable to your destination before you go.
