Drinking water wells
- Drinking water wells are located in Määkijä, Lojukoski, Kuutinkanava, Olhava, and Saarijärvi. The water from these wells is drinkable as is.
- The wells are available year-round. In winter and when the groundwater level is low, you may need to pump water for a longer time.
- The water from the wells may occasionally have taste issues due to iron and manganese. This does not affect the drinkability of the water.
- There is also a drinking water well at the Valkjärvi reservable camping area. The water from this well has strong taste issues.
- Any deviations in the usability of the wells will be announced on the National Park’s web page.
