By Train to Kouvola, Mäntyharju or Hillosensalmi

Throughout the year, the nearest railway stations to Repovesi National Park are Mäntyharju (47 km) or Kouvola (55 km).

In 2025, some train services will also stop at Hillosensalmi from April 26th to October 25th (vr.fi):

• IC 63, departing from Helsinki at 8:19 am and stopping at Hillosensalmi at 10:13 am.
• IC 68, departing from Kuopio at 2:20 pm and stopping at Hillosensalmi at 4:42 pm.

From the train station, it is a 9 km journey to Lapinsalmi and about 3 km by water to Karhulahti. You can reach Lapinsalmi by local buses 15, 15A, and 15B, as well as 5, which wait for train arrivals (kouvola.digitransit.fi).

By Bus to Repovesi

Buses (kouvola.digitransit.fi) travel from Kouvola to Lapinsalmi during the summer and from Kouvola to Orilampi (about 9 km from Lapinsalmi) all year round. For the rest of the trip you can take a taxi.

Charter buses can park at the Lapinsalmi, Saarijärvi and Tervajärvi parking areas.

By Shared Taxi to Repovesi

You can take a shared taxi from Kouvola to Repovesi. Kymenlaakson Taksi (kymenlaaksontaksi.fi) offers transport from Kouvola Travel Centre to Lapinsalmi at Repovesi all year round.
