Rock climbing
Olhavanvuori, approximately 50 meters high, is considered by many to be the best rock climbing destination in Finland. From spring to autumn, you can often find climbers camping at Olhava.
To ensure climbing is safe, climbers must have the necessary skills, proper equipment, and sound judgment. One should not attempt climbing alone without proper training. At Repovesi, even beginners can safely explore the dizzying heights of Olhava, as partner companies offer guided rock abseiling.
Climbing is prohibited near the rock painting on Olhavanvuori under the Antiquities Act. Additionally, attaching new pitons and bolts to the rock is forbidden. On other mountains in the area, rock climbing is not allowed due to the fragile vegetation.
Skiing
There is no maintained ski tracks in Repovesi National Park. Nearest ski tracks are located in Orilampi Holiday Centre. The ski trails are not lit and the terrain is difficult in places. Skiing off the trails is permitted throughout the park with the exception of the restricted area.
Please remember that there are a lot of currents in Lake Repovesi, which can make ice surprisingly thin in places. There may also be currents in unusual places in the winter.
Cycling
Cyclists can travel from one end of the park to the other along Kuismantie and test their fitness in the hilly terrain. Biking is allowed on the roads of the area and on specifically marked routes.
Swimming
The best swimming opportunities are at Lake Tervajärvi near parking area, at the Määkijä and the Lapinsalmi campfire sites and in Kuutinkanava canal. There is no official swimming spot in the National Park.
