    Join us for fun and exciting treasure hunting with metal detectors! In this fun and exciting activity you hunt various metal objects in teams. Each team is given a metal detector, map, small equipment bag and various clues. The search area is marked on the map and the hidden items are old gold and copper coins. Puzzle solving skills are also useful for the team. The activity is easy and the search area is easy to walk. We don't dig the ground but search for objects hidden on the surface of the ground.     Organize an ice fishing competition for your friends, family or work team! Do you dare to accept the challenge and try to see who is the ice fishing king of the group? Who catches the first fish, whose catch is the longest, because the total length of all the fish decides the winner. Is your choice of fishing lure correct, and do you have the right technique or does it perhaps still need some improvement? Did the ice drill hit the rocks and the fish scuttled?   • Fatbiking Guided Tour

    Join us for a fun and refreshing fatbiking tour! We have many scenic and diverse tracks for fatbiking. The pace and route will be planned to be suitable for the group. We will also have several breaks during the tour. Normal cycling ability and fitness is sufficient. Before we set off we will get acquainted with the fatbikes and the participants will get guidance for safe cycling. The fatbikes are equipped with very thick tyres and have an excellent grip. Because of the fat tyres the fatbikes are also light to cycle on an uneven terrain. We have 14 pcs fatbikes and 2 pcs e-fatbikes (electric) in our fleet. The e-fatbikes are always included in our fatbiking tours. This helps the group stay better together especially when there are participants with variable condition and skills. It is also possible to change bikes during the tour so that all willing have a chance to try out an electro fatbike. What to pack: Outdoorsy clothing matching the weather and good shoes. Starting with a brief 300-meter walk from Haltia Lake Lodge into the forest, we'll encounter two snow machines creating a realistic storm setting. Dressed in safety gear including overalls, helmets, and goggles, we'll work in teams to overcome the challenges. Prepare for a windy, stormy, and cold experience – the essence of our adventure! After braving the storm, we'll gather around an open fire to enjoy coffee and snacks, celebrating our triumph. Join us for this thrilling Arctic Storm experience and create lasting memories!     Hawkhill is the home for thousands of bugs and birds, and they were here before us. Now, nature loss is accelerating and biodiversity is declining. We want to do every possible act to fight this, and we challenge you to help us – and learn the skills to take action against nature loss at home too. Workshop for making bird houses. Learn the proper way of making a bird house for different species, make one and set it into the woods of Hawkhill. During the workshop, you will learn about local birds and their life. OR Workshop for making bug hotels. Help bugs to survive by building bug hotels and setting them by Hawkhill’s meadow. During the workshop, you will learn about the importance of bugs and their crucial role in the ecosystem. 10% of the income of this programme will be donated to the local food aid (ViaDia/Vihti).

    In Finland, the most traditional way of cooking is using open fire for cooking. Our wilderness chef Anssi is specialised in cooking by the fire, in many different ways. Our one-of-a-kind outdoor open-fire kitchen is a perfect place to learn secrets of the open fire cooking. Cook a delicious three-course dinner under the guidance of a wilderness chef who will hand over all his delicious recipes. The ingredients are sourced locally and include wild herbs and with positive co2 footprint.. Starters: Forest mushroom or nettle soup with flatbread.     Which team wins! Fun and easygoing mobile adventure outdoors played in teams! In the adventure you will see your teams location on the map, the route and puzzle points from your mobile phone screen. One phone per team (2-5 people) is enough.     Rent equipment for a great day outdoors from Nuuksio Hawk Nest! Nuuksio is the perfect destination for a day trip from Helsinki: easy and fast to reach, stunningly beautiful and full of options for outdoor activities! Start your day at Natura Viva’s Nuuksio Hawk Nest! Rental equipment for outdoor activities and many guided tours are available from Nuuksio Hawk Nest. Check also out Cafe Haukka which has selection of hot and cold drinks, small snacks and ice cream, and pre-packed foods for takeaway. Open Canoes The open canoe is most suitable for river trips and sheltered waters, and as so perfect for the often calm weather conditions at the Hawk Lake. Open canoes are paddled with a single-blade paddle and they have a lot of room for your gear. All our open canoes can carry two adults and two children. All open canoe rentals also include canoe paddles, personified floating device (pfd) and bailer. SUP boards Stand Up Paddling in Nuuksio is an unforgettable experience. This fun and trendy water sport activity will be easily uptaken on the calm Hawk Lake waters. Our highest quality SUP boards will make your SUP session enjoyable. Rowing boats A rowing trip on a traditional Finnish rowing boat is a very relaxing way to spend the day out! Our rowing boats are light and easy to handle, and they carry three persons. Buy some foods to go from Cafe Haukka and head on to the lake! Fatbikes Fatbikes are very well suited for the diverse terrains in the Nuuksio district. You have steep hills, thick forests and wide open grounds – surrounded by the small lakes and ponds. Rent yourself a bike and start exploring the exciting surroundings of Nuuksio. All Fatbike rentals also include a helmet. Snowshoe rental in Nuuksio National Park During the winter season we offer self-service snowshoe rental at Nuuksio Hawk Nest.     Join us for a winter adventure by snowshoes! First we learn the basics of snowshoeing and then head off for a guided hike in Nuuksio. Along the way we hear about the local nature while experiencing the wintery wonderland. During the break we will enjoy warm drinks (berry juice or Finnish glögg). What to pack: Outdoorsy clothing matching the weather (we prefer layers, so bring an extra layer for the break!), hiking boots or similar kind of winter boots. Water bottle is recommended too.

  • Haltia Lake Lodge - nature boutique hotel

    The reason for visiting Haltia Lake Lodge is nature itself. Just 30 minutes from Helsinki, you will find breathtakingly beautiful scenery here. Lakes, forests, canyons, wetlands and rugged cliffs cover the landscape and provide an exceptional backdrop for various activities such as hiking, canoeing, mountain biking or bird watching. Here everyone will find a way to experience and enjoy nature and its healing powers, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.     Price includes: Snowshoes, guidance, planning, arrangement, sticks when needed Length: 2 - 4 km depending on the quality of snow and what's the depth of snow. Speed is fitted according to groups wishes. Departure and return: We meet at the front door of Hotel Nuuksio main entrance. In first place we walk to Redfox Yard, where snoeshoes are waiting for the adjustment. Available: Winter, the depth of snow has to be atleast app. 20cm. This is not ponce about who has the highest skills or strongest jump, everybody has their unique way to move and enjoy. If it's going to be sweat, it is only good, then we keep a break. The target is not to make as long hike as we can but to have memorable experience. If you want take own drink and snack with you it is possible. Suitable resting place you will find every where around. Clothing according the weather condition, most important is that your shoes are more like normal hikingshoes with high top angle part.     This hike leads you to the Haukansuo bog, located just below the hill of Hakwhill. Surrounded by the unique atmosphere of the wet-land and the surrounding Nuuksio national park, the hike allows you to experience the Finnish bog with every sense – get to know its delicacies as well as learn about its mythology. During the hike, the participants will learn about swamp ecosystems, their role as carbon sinks as well as their crucial importance in protecting biodiversity. We will also introduce the participants in the work we have done to restore the biodiversity of Haukansuo, and talk about how bog were originally formed, their history, ancient beliefs related to them, their fauna, wild herbs and their medicinal properties.
