You can fish for the grayling (Thymallus thymallus), trout (Salmo trutta), common whitefish (Coregonus laveretus), pike (Esox lucius) and perch (Perca fluviatilis) in the area. Lake Peltojärvi and small fell rivers are great places for catching grayling. To fish in lakes, you must pay the fisheries management fee
If you would like to fish in streams, you also need an angling permit. Ice fishing on lakes is allowed under everyone's rights without a permit. Ice fishing and angling in streams are not allowed.
Muotkatunturi-Kaldoaivi angling permit area 1501 comprises the river basins of Näätämöjoki, Kiellajoki and Kaamasjoki. The area consists of the extensive wilderness reserves of Muotkatunturi and Kaldoaivi and is located between Utsjoki municipality’s boundary and Sevettijärventie and Angelintie roads.
