Helvetinjärvi National Park is an excellent day trip destination. There are approximately 40 km of marked trails. Due to the wide variations in elevation, the trails are demanding in places.

• The Helvetistä Itään Nature Trail takes you to the best scenic lookout points the Helvetinkolu Gorge.
• The trails are not maintained during the winter, and the slopes are dangerously slippery in the winter months.
