Helvetinjärvi National Park is located in the region of Pohjois-Pirkanmaa, about 50 km north of Tampere. The main roads from the Ruovesi, Kuru and Virrat directions have signs to the area.

There is a separate parking area for caravans and trailers at Haukanhieta, which is on the left side of the road before the actual parking area. You can stay in the caravan area for three nights. The Helvetin Portti restaurant (helvetinportti.fi) provides services for caravans at Kankimäki.

Please note that the road between Valkeinen and Ruokejärvet is in very poor condition. It is not passable with a regular car, and even with an SUV, extreme caution is required. It is not recommended to drive on this road. Please use only the main guided routes to the park.
