Because the trail leading to Heinälahti is less hiked, you can experience truly natural peace and quiet along it. The trail runs along the rocky shoreline of Lake Haukkajärvi, through small mires and shady coniferous forests to the charming campfire site at Heinälahti. Heinälahti offers views of bird nesting sites at Lake Haukkajärvi. You might even spot a lesser black-backed gull! The starting point and return point of the trail is Haukanhieta, so it is definitely worth your while to also visit Haukanhieta's magnificent natural sand beach. Haukanhieda has a well, cooking shelters, campfire sites and is a popular camping area. The Hiedanmaja rental hut is also located at the starting point. The trail is 4 kilometres out and back. There are no major elevation differences on the trail. There are some roots and rocks on the trail, which runs on duckboards in some places. The trail is not maintained during the winter.

From the Haukanhieta parking area, visitors walk past the boom and down the hill along the forest road. At the foot of the hill, there is a junction leading to a sand road to the Hiedanmaja rental hut and its own trail towards Heinälahti. In addition, a trail leading to the Haukanhieta sand beach starts from the pump well. The sand beach at Haukanhieta should not be missed. In addition to the well, there are cooking shelters, campfire sites and a camping area. A path from the beach leads back out to the junction.
The trail to Heinälahti winds through a lush shoreline forest, at some points running very close to the rocky shoreline of Lake Haukkajärvi. At Kylmälahti, a small mire area is crossed by duckboards, after which the trail continues as a forest path.
Before reaching Heinälahti, the trail crosses a small mire on duckboards. Heinälahti has a campfire site, camping area and dry toilet. Close the Heinälahti rest area are spectacular shoreline cliffs, with views of the lake.
The trail returns to Haukanhieta along the same route.
