
Pahanojankuru open wilderness hut
A modest open wilderness hut is available year-round. The open wilderness hut is a shared and free resting and overnight place for independent hikers (not for commercial use). You can stay in wilderness huts for one or two nights without a reservation. Be prepared for the possibility that there may not be enough space to sleep in the hut. Facilities: - Bunk beds in two levels (no mattresses) with room for 9 sleepers. Bring your own sleeping pad and sleeping bag. - Heating with a wood stove. - A gas stove and basic pots for cooking. Bring your own cooking utensils and tableware. - There is a drying room with a wood stove, the room serves also as a hallway. - Pets are allowed in the hut only with the consent of other users. - There is a campfire site, a table, a wood shed and a dry toilet in the yard (bring your own toilet paper). - Water can be taken from the Pahaoja creek about 100 m along stairs from the hut. Boil the water before consumption. - No waste management. Take your own waste out of the area.
