Hiking
On the 26-kilometre Riisitunturi hiking trail, which leads through Riisitunturi National Park and Karitunturi mire reserve, you get a taste of hiking in the wilderness. The trail takes in the tops of fells and hills, old-growth forests and open slope fens, bringing visitors to beautiful views almost around each corner.
A more experienced hiker can leave the trails trampled by others behind and choose their own paths. In the remote zone of the National Park, camping is allowed under everyone’s rights.
Cross-country Skiing
In late winter, you can ski along the Riisitunturi Multipurpose Track. On the Karitunturi skiing track (15 km), you can also enjoy the snowy forest by skate skiing. In addition, you can ski on virgin snow. Go on an adventure to the land of snow-crowned spruces and bare felltops.
Winter biking
In wintry Riisitunturi National Park, you can take your fatbike to Riisitunturi multipurpose track.
Admiring the views

Take in the breathtaking views of the magnificent fell and hill landscape on you hike. The changing seasons add diversity to the landscape. The views from the top of Riisitunturi fell at 465 metres are amazing. Almost all parts of the National Park are more than 300 metres above sea level.
Photography

The light and colours of Riisitunturi fell nature offer a fantastic and easy-to-reach setting for taking photographs in all seasons.
Turn your camera towards the swaying taiga forests and Lake Kitkajärvi, or aim it at the infinity of the Milky Way shining above a white landscape.
If you wish to take pictures of landscapes, you should head to the top of the fell for the best views. And if your interests lie in photographing birds or other animals, the wilderness areas and mires of the National Park are an excellent destination.
