On the marked trails in the hiking area, visitors can experience the power of a large lake.
Lake Oulujärvi is Kainuu's own sea. The wonderful islands and sandy beaches of the hiking area attract boaters and canoers, and Manamansalo can also be reached by car. Oulujärvi Hiking Area is part of Rokua Geopark and UNESCO's international Geopark network.

The ski trails in the Manamansalo island are maintained by the camping site entrepreneur.

Temporary camping in the area is allowedIn Manamansalo island, camping is only permitted at campfire sites.
Overnight at the cruise port is allowedYou may keep a boat in the excursion port for a maximum of 2 days.
Make campfires only in designated sitesAlways check the current wildfire warning before making a fire. During a wildfire warning, fires are only allowed in cooking shelters with a chimney.
Remember to bring a trash bagThere is no recycling point in the area. Bring a trash bag and take the trash with you.
