Lighting campfires is prohibited in Malla Strict Nature Reserve. Huts firewood can be used only inside in the hut stoves.

Hikers should note that there are no wells in the area.

• Always boil water from natural sources before drinking it.
• Do not wash dishes or yourself in natural waters.
• After use, remember to soak any washing water into the ground far enough away from natural waters or water supply points.

• There is a dry toilet at the open wilderness and shared rental huts at Guohkkemašjávri / Kuohkimajärvi.
• Remember to bring your own toilet paper.
• Check the instructions for using the toilet provided at the campsite

• Take your rubbish home, do not burn it.
• Remember to bring some rubbish bags when you go out. The recycling point is located at the Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre.
• Do not throw food waste out in the forest.
