Malla Strict Nature Reserve is located in Käsivarsi in Lapland by Lake Kilpisjärvi, on the edge of the Scandinavian mountains. The reserve was established especially for conservation and research purposes. The Nordic Kalottireitti trail, which runs through the area, leads visitors to windswept bare fells and lush mountain birch groves. Hikers must respect the access restrictions in the Nature Reserve and other special rules.
