The numerous lakes and rivers make the Inari Hiking Area perfect for fly fishing as well as ice fishing. The best-known fishing sites include Lake Inarijärvi and the legendary Juutua trout river right next to the village of Inari. The area is well-suited for families and for those who are beginners in finshing, as it is easy to access.

For lure fishing in Lake Inarijärvi, you will need to pay the fisheries management fee (eraluvat.fi), if you are aged between 18 and 69 and intend to fish with a single rod. If you use more than one rod, you will also have to get a fishing permit for Lake Inarijärvi, permit area No 1504 (eraluvat.fi).
Juutua, Kettujoki River and the lakes within the Inari Hiking Area, which are stocked with farmed fish, require a separate angling permit. Juutuajoki River is divided into two angling permits: Juutua, Alakoski 1527 (eraluvat.fi) and Juutua, yläosa 1528 (eraluvat.fi).
There is one angling permit in Kettujoki River, Kettujoki 1526 (eraluvat.fi).
Inari hiking area 1506 (eraluvat.fi) covers the special waters in the hiking area and the flowing waters, excluding the Juutua and Kettujoki rivers
