  • Take the Sámi cultural environment into considerationWhen out in nature, behave in such a way that does not disrespect the Sámis' sacred places meaning or degrade their condition.

  • Everyman’s Right apply in the hiking areaMovement and camping under everyman's right are allowed except on Islands Hautuumaasaaret of Lake Inari and the wilderness church of Pielpajärvi and its field. Those areas are protected under the Antiquities Act. Camping, making fires, and disturbing the soil are prohibited on the Islands Hautuumaasaaret and at the wilderness church of Pielpajärvi.
  • Make campfires only in designated sitesAlways check the current wildfire warning before making a fire. During a wildfire warning, fires are only allowed in shelters with a chimney.
  • Remember to bring a trash bagThere is no recycling point in the area. Bring a trash bag and take the trash with you.
  • Always keep pets on a leashDog waste must be cleaned off the trails.
  • Temporary camping in the area is allowedTemporary camping with Everyman’s Right is allowed, except for parking areas. You can stay overnight in motorhomes in the parking area.
