Located next to Teijo ironworks village, the Sahajärvi Trail winds through forest terrain, crossing rocks and mires. Lake Sahajärvi is crossed using two rope-pulled ferries. Even though this adds a bit of challenge to the hike, it provides you with an unforgettable experience. On the island of Kalasuntti, you can make a campfire and take a lunch break. An overnight stay on the island is a one-of-a-kind experience. The trail is suitable for experienced hikers, as the rocks and Lake Sahajärvi crossing make the hike more demanding. The entire circle trail can be hiked only when the rope-pulled ferries are in use, i.e. during the snow-free season. Kalasuntti island and its rest areas are suitable for a short day trip destination when starting out from the Laviakallio parking area (Sauruntie 910, Salo). .
