As the easiest circle trail in Nuuksio, Punarinnankierros is ideal for beginners. The sights along the trail include the beautiful dry heath forests of Nuuksio and small lakes, the most spectacular one of which is Mustalampi with its floating mats of peat moss. The hiking centre at the Haukkalampi Pond is called Haukanpesä. A café operates there in the summer. You can also rent canoes, rowing boats and bicycles at the hiking centre. You can find an accessible dry toilet and table-bench sets, a drinking water point and a recycling point at the Haukkalampi Pond. The small Haukkalampi parking area has a recycling point for different types of waste. There are several information boards along the trail in the Haukkalampi and Mustalampi areas.

The Punarinnankierros Trail can be travelled in both directions, but the trail presentation is counterclockwise.
Start from the large Haukkalampi parking area and go along a wide and well-surfaced road through a spruce forest. You will then reach a small parking area, approaching the Haukkalampi Pond and its services.
After the Haukkalampi yard, dip back into the spruce forest. After the Haukanholma junction, climb up a hill to the dam at the Mustalampi Pond.
After a small climb, you will reach rocks at the eastern Mustalampi campsite, where you can find a campfire site, a dry toilet and a tent area. At the Mustalampi Pond, you can find peat mats formed by sphagnum mosses that detached from the surrounding mire in the 1950s when the water level of the Mustalampi Pond was raised by damming.
From here, the Punarinnankierros Trail becomes slightly more challenging; the trail is narrower and more demanding, but still fairly easy to hike. After the forest section, you will encounter duckboards and the Valkealampi Pond. You will climb up in the forest after enjoying the shoreline scenery.
In the forest, the trail becomes a wider road again and starts soon descending towards the starting point at the Haukkalampi parking area.
End point: Haukkalampi parking areas, Haukkalammentie 30 and Haukkalammentie 32, 02820 Espoo.
