The trail follows the lakeshore, passes through pine forests and crosses one mire on duckboards. A section of the trail passes through the village of Mathildedal. Lake Matildanjärvi is in view for almost the entire six kilometres of the trail. You will be enchanted by changes in the lake landscape that take place by the season or time of day. The Lake Matildanjärvi trail is ideal for an all-day trip.

Starting points are Matildanjärvi parking area, Matildanjärventie 86, Salo or Mikkossuo parking area, Teijontie 552, Salo.
The Matildanjärvi parking area is located south of Lake Matildanjärvi and there is a marked trail section of approximately 100 metres to the shore, where the actual circle trail begins. There is a pier at the shore, where there are rowboats and kayaks available to rent during the summer season.
The trail runs mostly close to the lakeshore. The first section partly runs across rock and has two staircases and duckboards. If desired, you can hike an additional 200-metre trail to Roosinniemi, where there is a lean-to shelter, campfire site and dry toilet.
After the Roosinniemi junction, the trail continues along narrow duckboards. There are a few ditches along the trail that are crossed by bridges. On the north shore section of the trail, a reedy bay is crossed by a bridge.
The trail continues to Vicksbäckinlahti, where there is a campfire site, lean-to shelter and dry toilet. There is also a rental hut suitable for groups.
The section on the north shore has varied shoreline terrain and one climb to the top of a high shoreline rock.
At the western end of the lake, an approximately 600-metre section of the trail passes through the village of Mathildedal.
The last kilometre of the trail runs along Matildanjärvintie road. The Kariholma rest area is located on the trail. It has an accessible cooking shelter and dry toilet. Before the end of the trail, visitors climb the beautiful rocks near the Teijo Nature Centre and then return to the parking area.
