From the Kittiläntie parking a few hundred meters long trail leads to the Ritakoski campfire site which is located by the Juutua River. There is a lean-to shelter and a campfire site by the rapids of the Juutua River. From the campfire site, there is a stunning view of Ritakoski and the Otsamotunturi fell rising behind it. Ritakoski is an easy day trip destination, even for those hiking with children.

- Camping permittedCamping is permitted under everyone´s right.

- Remember to bring a trash bagThere are no waste bins on the trail. Bring along your own trash bag and take your waste out with you when leaving.
- No water pointThere are natural water sources along the route, which are recommended to be boiled before using as drinking water.

The starting point is a roadside parking on the road Kittiläntie.
From the parking area, a 300-meter-long trail leads to the shore of the Juutua River, gently descending to the Ritakoski lean-to shelter. The trail has some stones and roots, but overall, it is easy to walk.
The return is along the same trail back to the parking area.
