The Inari-Otsamo Trail is a magnificent, 18-kilometre day trip destination that offers breathtaking views over the surrounding lake and fell landscapes. From the top of the 418-metre tall Otsamotunturi Fell, you can admire the fells of Hammastunturi, Muotkatunturi and Lemmenjoki. The first five kilometres, the trail follows the rushing Juutuanjoki River in a very old pine forest, after which it begins to go ascend. Going uphill, you reach the limit of the pine growth, and then the limit of the alpine birch. The top of Otsamotunturi Fell is open fell field. If you return along the same trail, it makes an 18-km-long trip altogether. If you travel the trail from the Jäniskoski parking area to Riutula, the one-way distance is approximately 20 km This trail is also suitable for beginners but requires good basic fitness due to the climbs.
