A modest open wilderness hut is available year-round.
The open wilderness hut is a shared and free resting and overnight place for independent hikers (not for commercial use). You can stay in wilderness huts for one or two nights without a reservation. Be prepared for the possibility that there may not be enough space to sleep in the hut. You can sleep in the yard of the hut in your own tent.
During snow-free time, the hut can be reached by hiking or mountain biking. The hut is located along the hiking trail that runs through the Pyhä-Luosto National Park. In summer and autumn, the nearest parking area is the Huttujärventie parking area, which is about 1.2 km walking or cycling distance from the hut.
In winter, the nearest parking area is along the Pyhä-Luosto road, about 1 km north of the Huttujärventie road intersection, from where you can snowshoe along Huttujärventie road to the hut. The road has no winter maintenance. From week 8, a maintained cross-country ski trail passes by the hut.
