Around Yllästunturi Fells there are 100 km marked winter trails. There are maintained as well as marked but unmaintained snowshoeing trails in Ylläs. Climb to the peak of Kukastunturi on your snowshoes or hike to Tuomikuru hut. Dozens of kilometres of winter hiking trails are available in the magnificent landscapes of Hetta in Enontekiö as well as Raattama and Yli-Kyrö. In Hetta, Jyppyrä is a popular snowshoeing destination reached along a marked trail. Pallastunturit area mainly comprises of open fells where the wind hardens the snow surface, and no marked trails for snowshoeing are provided.

• The snowshoeing trails in the park are not maintained. Official trails are marked with plastic canes and signposts at junctions.
• Raattama trails (raattamanreitit.fi, in Finnish) welcome not only skiers but also those who prefer fatbikes or snowshoes.
