Skiing in the Kevo Strict Nature Reserve

Winter in Kevo lasts for several months, making it a magnificent but demanding destination for winter hiking. The snow-covered fells, vast mires, and the Kevo Canyon offer diverse and varied skiing terrain. There are no maintained ski trails in the Kevo Strict Nature Reserve, and conditions can be extremely challenging. Therefore, you must have excellent wilderness skills if you plan to trek in Kevo.

When you have good orienteering and winter hiking skills, you can enjoy the freedom of skiing in the untouched snow of the Kevo Strict Nature Reserve, while respecting movement restrictions. In winter, you are free to ski in the fell area of the strict nature reserve from October 16th to April 30th and in the canyon area from October 16th to March 31st.
