Picking berries and mushrooms are Everyman's Rights in Hämeenkangas taking into account restrictions set by the military. The most common finds in the heathland forests are the Blueberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) and the Lingonberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea).

Horseback riding is allowed on roads and riding trails marked with signposts.
