Vattukuru is a fantastic hiking destination that is also well-suited for families with young children. In just a couple of kilometers, you can see a variety of landscapes typical of Syöte National Park, from rocky, dry forests to moist, fern-covered groves. The Vattukuru ravine is a great spot for a pancake picnic, for example. Vattukuru is also suitable for winter visits, as the parking area is kept open during winter.

Starting point
The trail starts from the Vattukuru parking area, next to the information board. The first part (approx. 150 m) of the trail follows the same path as the return route.
If hiking clockwise, the first intersection leads up a gentle slope. The trail ascends for 0.4 km and then descends toward Vattukuru.
The trail is narrow and mostly a natural path throughout. Short sections of the trail have been gravelled. The trail has some elevation changes and occasional short, more challenging sections.
If hiking clockwise, after the Vattukuru lean-to shelter, there is a wooden staircase leading up from the bottom of the ravine. The stairs have a handrail. After the stairs, the trail climbs up a steep slope without stairs. At the top of the ravine, the trail heads back toward the starting point through forested terrain and is relatively flat and easy to walk.
