The Takalan polku Trail runs from Kattila to the Takala lean-to shelter through impressive spruce forests, crossing the Myllypuro Brook. The trail is fairly in good condition and mainly rather wide. You can take a break at the lean-to shelter before returning to Kattila.

The Takalan polku Trail starts from either the large or small Kattila parking area. The trail is mainly fairly wide and in good condition.
The trail is fairly level at the beginning, until you descend into the river valley and cross the bridge over the Myllypuro Brook, that flows swiftly from time to time.
Before the lean-to shelter, cross a side stream of the brook, followed by a rather steep climb. The Takala campsite has a campfire site, a lean-to shelter and a dry toilet.
From the lean-to shelter, you can continue your hike north to the Salmi hiking area. When returning to Kattila, follow the same trail from the lean-to shelter on which you arrived at the starting point.
There is a drinking water point and a recycling point in Kattila approximately 200 metres from the start of the trail, campfire sites and a cooking shelter as well as a dry toilet approximately 250 metres from the start of the trail, an information board, a bus final stop and accommodation for groups.
