The trail starts from the Särkitunturi parking area. Follow the brown Särkitunturi signposts to the campfire shelter and the summit. Take the same trail back to the starting point.
The forested, hardened trail starts from the parking area. Follow the brown Särkitunturi signposts. There is a small wooden bridge at the beginning of the trail. The trail climbs gently the whole time but is easy to walk.
After walking 1 km from the bridge, you can take a break to sit on the fallen tree trunk and admire the wide-open landscape visible above the tree tops towards Pallastunturi Fells.
The trail continues to climb gently and you soon arrive at the Särkivaara campfire shelter. The shelter is spacious, and there is a toilet, wood shed, pond and pier in the yard. The total distance travelled is 1.5 km.
From the shelter, follow the brown signpost for Särkitunturi. The trail becomes more rocky here, but levels out again after an uphill section and becomes easier to walk.
As the trail climbs higher, the trees become smaller and the landscape more rocky. After travelling 1.3 km from the campfire shelter, you arrive at the tree line and the Särkitunturi signpost. This is a good place to stop and admire the landscape around you and look at the different reflections on the surface of the nearby pond.
Take the same trail back and enjoy the amazing landscape in front of you and the light filtering through the trees.
