Starting pointRisuperä parking area
The trail from the Risuperä parking area first comes to a mire, from which you can enter the Strict Nature Reserve.
Soon after this, you will arrive at Penkkilammi pond, where the trail continues along a beautiful narrow ridge with ponds on both sides.
The terrain along trail alternates between light pine heaths, mixed forests and wild backcountry covered in a thick carpet of moss. Small wetland areas and babbling brooks are crossed on duckboards.
The terrain becomes rockier at Lake Kangasjärvi. Large, old pine trees and grey deadwood stems adorn the trail as it winds through the hilly terrain.
At the north end of Lake Kangasjärvi, the trail connects to the Pahapuronlenkki trail and soon reaches the Salamajärvi National Park.
The trail continues through coniferous forest until you arrive at Pieni Koirajärvi lake, which is surrounded by mires. The trail continues as a duckboard section and then for the rest of the way as an accessible trail to the Koirasalmi Nature Information Hut. At Koirasalmi, there is a dry toilet, water supply point and campfire site as well as the Koirasalmi Nature Information Hut services.
The trail returns to the starting point along the same route.
