The Pyhän Jyssäys trail takes you to the top of Pikku-Pyhävaara, where you can enjoy stunning views and a day-use hut for a snack break. This trail can be hiked or biked with a mountain bike and is a great day trip for the whole family. The vegetation on the fell tops is delicate and cannot withstand foot traffic, so please stay on marked trails.

The Pyhän Jyssäys trail is marked with wooden posts featuring green reflective tape and a red reflector plate.
The trail begins with an uphill section from the intersection of Platingintie and Petäjäkuja.
After the uphill, you arrive at a small hill with a view towards Pyhävaara. From the hill, the trail first descends and then starts to gently ascend towards the top.
From the starting point, it is 2.8 km to the top of Pikku Pyhävaara. Just before the top, it's worth turning around to take in the view towards Rukajärvi that opens up behind you.
At the top of Pikku Pyhävaara, you'll find a day-use hut, a campfire site, a firewood shelter, and a dry toilet. Between the campfire site and the firewood shelter, a short path leads to a viewing platform. The sign on the platform indicates the hills and lakes visible in the landscape.
From the rest area, the trail continues down from the top.
After 1.9 km, the trail reaches a wide, gravel path (a ski track in winter), where you turn right.
Walk 570 meters along the wide path and then turn left. In winter, ski tracks and snowmobile routes intersect here.
After the uphill turn right when you arrive at Petäjäkuja. Follow the road left for 30 meters, then turn right and walk 150 meters to the parking area.
