It’s fun to glide down Pallastunturi Fell on your mountain bike towards Mäntyrova open wilderness hut and the traditional village milieu of Torassieppi. “Rova” is a typical word in Lapland, which originates from the Sámi language and means high ground that is rocky and sparsely covered with trees. That is the perfect description of Mäntyrova. The Torasieppi cultural landscape is a traditional Lapland village. The wet sections of the shared summer hiking and mountain biking trail are hardened and relatively easy to ride on.

The trail starts at the hotel at Pallastunturi Fell and runs through an old spruce forest on the fell slope to the west and Mäntyrova open wilderness hut. The wet sections of the shared-use trail are hardened. After Pallastunturi, the trail soon levels out and crosses Vatioja Stream, which originates in the fells. The trail continues in a light-filled pine forest and winds through rocky terrain towards Mäntyrova. Stop at Mäntyrova open wilderness hut and sit for a while to enjoy the atmosphere of the old-growth forest.
The trail continues to the west and crosses Mäntyrovavuoma, which is a wet mire area with pine mires and open bogs. You have to navigate along duckboards on this trail, and it may be better to walk your bike if you are not accustomed to riding on duckboards.
The trail continues across the hills of Mäntyrova and Rautuvuoma and approaches Vuontisjärvi Lake in Muonio via Rautupalo. After crossing the Vuontisjoki bridge, the trail soon arrives in the cultural landscapes of the traditional Lapland village of Torassieppi.
