The route runs along wilderness areas with mire and pond scenery. The Konttivaara section runs through an old forest with only few traces of the storm. There is a lot of storm damage towards the end of the trail. The sections running through mires have duckboards or a crushed rock surface.

- Multi-purpose trailYou can hike, bike, snowshoe or run along the trail. Please note other trail users (moving at different speeds)
- Campfire siteAlways check for any wildfire warnings in effect before making a fire.
- Camping permittedCamping is only permitted in the immediate vicinity of marked rest areas and campfire sites and huts.
- Dry toiletRemember to bring toilet paper.
- Remember to bring a trash bagThere are no waste bins on the trail. Bring along your own trash bag and take your waste out with you when leaving.

The whole trail runs through pine-dominated forests on flat, easy terrain. An easy pathway has been cleared through areas covered in trees felled by the storm. The trail is marked on trees with blue dots of paint.
