The pristine and tranquil mire scenery with all its scents captivates the hiker at Lake Savojärvi. In winter, the stillness of the landscape is beyond compare. The key point of interest on the trail is Kuhankuono boundary stone, a memorial from the times of the 1918 Civil War that still marks the boundary between seven municipalities today. The first part of the trail (300 m) from Kurjenpesä parking area to Kuhankuono boundary stone is part of the accessible Karpalopolku trail, which is suitable for wheelchairs and buggies in the snow-free period. The whole trail is easy and suitable for beginners.
