The Korkeasärkkä Trail is a one-way route that leads to the most iconic ridge in Petkeljärvi. Korkeasärkkä is a narrow peninsula, flanked by sparkling clear waters on both sides.

To access the trail, you must first follow the Kuikan kierros or the Harjupolku. The Korkeasärkkä Trail, 2 km, starts at the junction between Kokkolahde and Savulampi, where there is a signpost. The Korkeasärkkä Trail is marked with blue dots painted on the trees.
The path leads to the end of the narrow Korkeasärkkä, where Lohisalmi is located. The path is 2 km long, and you must return the same way. To the east of Korkeasärkkä, the view opens up to Valkiajärvi, and to the west, to the narrow Kaitajärvi.
