Trail is a sightseeing trail that runs up the steps to the top of Konttainen Hill. From there, you will have a majestic view over Lake Konttaisenjärvi, Valtavaara Hill, Ruka and northern Kuusamo. Trails is also suitable for winter time hikes on snow shoes. The vegetation of the mountain summits is sensitive and cannot withstand walking, so please stay on the marked trail.

The Konttaisen kuhaus Trail starts from the Virkkulantie parking area and curves towards the landscapes of Kumpuvaara, then continues to the summit and back down the slope. Trail markings are wooden posts with green markings. Part of the way also follows the Karhunkierros trail markings (orange paint markings and yellow reflectors on the wooden posts). The views open up from the top of Konttainen over Northern Kuusamo. Spend a moment by the landscape.
The trail is suitable for day trips both in summer and winter. Great sceneries over Lake Konttaisenjärvi, Rukatunturi fell and Northern Kuusamo.
There are no services or campfire sites along the trail. Remember that making a fire is only allowed at designated campfire sites, so fires cannot be made along the Konttaisen kuhaus. Biking is not allowed on Konttaisen kuhaus Trail in summer or winter.
