The Kokalmuksen kierros Trail takes you through the most splendid landscape in Hossa and provides excellent rest spots. On the Kokalmuksen kierros Trail, trekkers and cyclists travel along the same trail. The trail is accessible to all, all the way to Muikkupuro. The trail goes, via Muikkupuro, to Hoiluansärkkä and, bypassing the reindeer sheds, to the Kokalmus lean-to shelter. From Kokalmus, the trail returns to the shore of Lake Pitkä-Hoilua. The trail is easy and mostly level, allowing hikers to focus on enjoying nature.

The starting point is at Hossalaislammet, Pistonlehdontie 225, Suomussalmi.
At the beginning, the trail goes from the starting point of Hossalaislammet along the Muikkupuro Accessible Trail until it turns towards Lake Iso-Valkeainen. The trail continues to the Muikkupuro lean-to shelter, past the Ala-Valkeainen open wilderness hut.
From the Ala-Valkeainen open wilderness hut, the trail leads along the Hoiluansärkkä Esker to the Kokalmus lean-to shelter. There is one campfire site between the Ala-Valkeainen open wilderness hut and the Kokalmus lean-to shelter.
From the Kokalmus lean-to shelter, go through Lipposensalmi, following the eastern shoreline of Lake Pitkä-Hoilua. The Lipposensalmi lean-to shelter and two other campfire sites can be found along the route. The Kokalmuksen kierros Trail loops back to the Hossalaislammet parking area.
