The trail from the Haukkalampi Pond to Haltia features beautiful Nuuksio forest landscapes, relaxing lakeside views and demanding climbs and descents. The trail is in good condition, and there are stairs in the steepest places. You can also take a break at the pier on the shore of Lake Pitkäjärvi in Nuuksio or somewhere else. You can find many services at the Haukkalampi Pond during the summer, and the accessible Finnish Nature Centre Haltia has a café-restaurant, equipment rental services and exhibitions.

The connecting trail from the Haukkalampi Pond to Haltia can be travelled in both directions or even back and forth during the same day.
From the Haukkalampi pond, go southeast from the parking areas, following the Punarinnankierros Trail. At this point, the fairly wide and easy trail becomes a forest section on top of the rocks, criss-crossed by roots in places.
There is a very steep decline along wooden stairs close to the Myllypuro valley.
In the valley, cross the Myllypuro Brook on a bridge. There is a dry toilet in Tyynelä along the trail, and soon you will see Lake Pitkäjärvi in Nuuksio. There is a pier on the shore where you can admire the second largest lake in Espoo.
A steep climb begins in the shoreline forest, followed by a 30-metre-long descent along steel stairs on a steep slope.
Follow the edge of the mire towards the Nuuksiontie Road crossing, from where the trail continues along the edge of beautiful forests and the Punjonsuo Mire, inching towards the Solvalla hiking area.
It is a good idea to step off the trail to admire the view from the top of the ski slope, where you can admire forested views and the magnificent Romvuori Hill slope with its large boulders on the shore of Lake Pitkäjärvi in Nuuksio.
Descend to the Finnish Nature Centre Haltia and the parking areas down a long, gentle hill.

The hiking centre at the Haukkalampi Pond is called Haukanpesä. A café operates there in the summer. You can also rent canoes, rowing boats and bicycles at the hiking centre. You can find an accessible dry toilet and table-bench sets, a drinking water point and a recycling point at the Haukkalampi Pond. The small Haukkalampi parking area has a recycling point for different types of waste.
The accessible Finnish Nature Centre Haltia has a café-restaurant, equipment rental services, exhibitions and rental facilities. Villa Solvalla also has a restaurant. You can find information boards both at the Haukkalampi Pond and near Haltia.
