The Aurorapolku circle trail runs near the village of Saariselkä and is suitable for all ages. Along the Aurora trail, there is a day-use hut, campfire sites, and a toilet. The gravel path goes through pine forests and along the edge of a ravine. The trail can be walked in both directions and is plowed during the winter. The route is lit and marked with black posts that feature the purple Aurora Trail symbol. Near the Aurora hut, you can admire the northern lights or even spot a Siberian jay. The trail is very demanding for an accessible route due to its steep slopes, but it may be suitable for some people who require accessible services.

The Aurora Trail can be accessed from the entrance gate of Urho Kekkonen National Park in Saariselkä. From the gate, first head towards Laanila for about 70 m, then turn left and walk 40 m, after which turn right following the purple Aurora Trail symbols.
Next, the trail crosses a bridge over a fell stream, followed by an ascent towards the Aurora hut. At the next junction, turn right and from the edge of the ravine, turn left again.
After that, walk about 100 m to the Aurora hut, which has a shared rental hut and a day-use hut. The yard has three campfire sites, a woodshed, and a toilet emptied with suction.

The route continues after the hut towards Kullanhuuhtojantie in a winding downhill path. The trail can also be accessed from Kullanhuuhtojantie, which leads to the ski lifts. After the downhill section, the route turns left back towards the junction, from where you can reach the bridge and return to the entrance gate.
