Winter Maintenance of Roads Leading to the Urho Kekkonen National Park Boundary

There are several roads leading to the border of Urho Kekkonen National Park. Not all roads have winter maintenance. This news article compiles information about road maintenance.

  • Kemihaarantie is plowed in winter until further notice. More information at [savukoski.fi] (https://www.savukoski.fi/).
  • There is no winter maintenance on Kuutua forest road (leads to Aittajärvi car park).
  • There is no winter maintenance on Sompiojärvi road.
  • There is no winter maintenance on the forest road leading to the Luttojoki suspension bridge. The nearest parking area is at the intersection of Rajajoosepintie and the forest road (about 5 km to Luttojoki).
  • Marivaara forest road is in very poor condition, and it is not recommended to drive there. The road has no winter maintenance.
