Winter maintenance in Salamajärvi National Park is only from the direction of Perho to Koirasalmi.
The road to the main starting point of the trails in Salamajärvi National Park, Koirasalmi, is plowed in winter only from the direction of Perho via Sysilammentie. The section of Koirasalmi Road on the eastern side of the national park is not plowed. In addition to Koirasalmi, the parking areas at Koirajärvi, Huttukangas, and Erijärvi have winter maintenance. Additionally, the fishing spot Heikinlampi, located outside the park, is accessible by car in winter. The road to Kaunislampi is not plowed.
