Current hiking information for Patvinsuo National Park

We compile here current observations on hiking conditions, exceptional situations, and other seasonal matters in Patvinsuo.

Hiking conditions

  • Currently, there is relatively little of snow for the season.
  • Patvinsuo is a remote destination, and after a snowstorm, it may take longer for roads like Suomuntie to be plowed.
  • During the winter of 2024-2025, Suomuntie will be plowed up to Kurkilahti. The parking area in Kurkilahti will be plowed. The driveway leading to Suomu Nature Hut will not be plowed.
  • Significant disturbances in GPS positioning and mobile networks have been observed in the area. Additionally, there may be areas with poor mobile coverage. Please take this into account when planning your hike.
