Hiidenportti is a peaceful but magnificent National Park, and its ravine landscapes are an impressive sight. In Hiidenportti National Park, you can also admire barren spruce forests and small pristine mires and immerse yourself in life in a woodland croft. There are nearly 30 kilometres of signposted trails with duckboards best suited for walkers in the area of Hiidenportti National Park.

There are no maintained cross-country ski trails but you can challenge yourself by skiing on virgin snow or by attempting to snowshoe.

  • The National Park is a nature reserveEveryman’s Right are not valid as such in national parks.
  • Camp only at permitted camping sitesCamping is only permitted in the immediate vicinity of designated rest and campfire sites, and huts.
  • Make campfires only in designated sitesBefore you light a fire, always check if any forest fire warnings are in effect. When a forest fire warning has been issued, lighting fires is restricted. The prohibition does not apply to cooking shelters or other fireplaces with a flue.
