Tuomikurun kierros Trail is a wide, moderately difficult trail that runs along the forest line between Yllästunturi Fell and Keskisenlaki Fell. There are a few benches for resting along the way. The trail climbs up to a Lapp hut, where visitors are rewarded with a beautiful view of Ylläsjärvi village and Kittilä’s Kumputunturi Fell. Fog highlights the drainage channels in the surrounding area, which have gently rolling depressions where the fell birds like to spend time. After leaving the campfire hut, you’ll descend along the edge of a stream to a ravine and lush, herb-rich fell forest. The trail takes you to the wilderness café and from there to the starting point.

Cycling is prohibited in Tuomikuru. There are prohibition signs in the terrain. The green Tuomikurun kierros signpost in front of the Taiga building at Ylläs Ski Resort points to the actual starting point of the trail, where you can find all the trail signs. The distance travelled is 150 metres.
You start by travelling along a wide partly natural and gravel path to the campfire hut. Along the way, the forest landscape becomes a treeless boulder field area. The benches provide a view of Ylläsjärvi village and all the way to Kittilä’s Kumputunturi Fell. The distance travelled from starting point is 3 km.
The campfire hut at Tuomikuru has a campfire site, dry toilets, a wood shed and ash container in the yard area.
The trail continues from the hut, following the green signs towards the wilderness café. The start of the trail is gravel, but it becomes a narrow and very charming natural path after about 500 metres. The trail winds through astonishing rock and fern formations and herb-rich vegetation along the banks of the stream. There are metal duckboard sections along the trail. Cycling is prohibited on this section of the route. The distance travelled from the campfire hut is 1.5 km.
From the wilderness café, you continue through a coniferous landscape, climbing a wide, gravel trail towards the starting point at the fell centre. The distance travelled from the wilderness café is 1.5 km.
