Hiking conditions
Hiking conditions at Repovesi are quite spring-like. Rocks, roots on trails, and wooden structures can be icy and slippery. We recommend sturdy footwear with good grip, such as hiking boots or winter boots, for those hiking at Repovesi.
- There is no winter maintenance on the trails at Repovesi.
- The lakes are frozen, but you should not go on the ice. Especially the ice on Kapiavesi is treacherous throughout the winter due to currents.
- As spring progresses, the roads leading to parking areas may be affected by thawing. Ease off the gas pedal.
- The trails at Repovesi are generally not prone to flooding.
It is advisable to arrive at Repovesi via the Tervajärvi or Saarijärvi parking areas.
- The Ketunlossi ferry is closed for the winter. Since the Lapinsalmi bridge is still not in use, you cannot access the trails from Lapinsalmi.
- The opening date of the Lapinsalmi bridge is still unknown.
