
Bookings for rental huts for 2026 open on May 5th at Eraluvat.fi
04/24/2025Bookings of rental and shared rental huts, as well as other sites available for booking for 2026, will open on Monday May 5th 2025 at 9:00am on Eraluvat.fi.
Metsähallitus has around 150 rental and shared rental huts located across Finland. You can explore the available options on Eraluvat.fi.
A locked rental hut is a shelter and an accommodation option for hikers in nature protection areas or wilderness areas. Only the group with a booking can stay overnight in the hut. After payment, the renter receives information on how to access the hut key. Rental huts can typically be booked for a maximum of one week. Each hut’s specific booking period is stated on its page.
In a shared rental hut, you can book a bed for a night or two. You share the hut with other hikers. A reservable hut may also be part of, or connected to, an open wilderness hut.
In addition to huts, Eraluvat.fi also offers short-term bookings for sites such as rental campfire huts (kotas), saunas, tent sites, and cooking shelters.
Tips for smooth booking
- Creating a user account is recommended. When logged in, you don’t have to pay immediately. You can also cancel unpaid bookings yourself. Create an account (eraluvat.fi).
- Make each booking as a separate logged-in order. This way, you can delay payment until 14 days before the start of each of your trips.
- Pay your order on the due date, so you can still cancel some items before payment. Paid bookings cannot be modified or partially cancelled. Cancellations are possible up to 14 days before the booking begins.
- Reservations that require invoicing must always go through customer service. The service is open on weekdays from 9:00 to 15:00. See contact details at Eraluvat.fi.
- Businesses can book without logging in, but payment must be then made immediately. A business may also create a user account for an authorized person. For logged-in users, the due date is set to 14 days before the booking. For invoicing, contact customer service. Creating a business account specifically for hut bookings is not possible.
- For businesses too, it's best to make separate bookings for each trip. This makes cancellation easier.
- Customer service does not accept advance bookings.
